Influence of the Mediterranean Diet and physical activity in patients with Diabetes Mellitus, Arterial hypertension and hyperlipemia in a primary care area of Albacete

Introduction. It is necessary to combat physical inactivity, since it represents the 4th risk of mortality from any cause worldwide, being the most prevalent risk factor above obesity, diabetes or tobacco.
Objectives. To analyze the level of physical activity (PA) and adherence to the Mediterranean diet in patients with chronic diseases.
Method. Observational descriptive study by conducting surveys of patients with hypertension, type 2 diabetes mellitus or dyslipidemia, aged between 42 and 90 years.
Results. In our study, only 27.77% of those surveyed manage to achieve the recommended goal of physical activity weekly. 72.2% have good adherence to the Mediterranean diet, with an average of 9.5 points.
Conclusions. In our study there is a high degree of adherence to the Mediterranean Diet and a low level of physical activity.
