Abstract

The first flexible gastroscopes were developed during the fourth decade of the XXth century. One of them, a Cameron flexible gastroscope can be visited in the Infanta Margarita Museum of the National Royal Academy of Medicine of Spain. Several photographs of the Cameron flexible gastroscope are presented and a brief description of the evolution of gastroscopy along the XXth and XXIst century is made.
