Explorando la ideación suicida en adolescentes y adultos jóvenes: trastornos de la conducta alimentaria (TCA), malestar psicológico, autoestima y satisfacción familiar.

Esta investigación analiza el efecto de diversos factores psicológicos, como los trastornos de la conducta alimentaria (TCA), el malestar psicológico (ansiedad y depresión), la autoestima y la satisfacción familiar, sobre la ideación suicida en adolescentes y adultos jóvenes. El estudio se llevó a cabo en las provincias de Cádiz y Málaga (España), utilizando métodos cuantitativos y de corte transversal. La muestra incluyó a 494 participantes, en su mayoría españoles, con edades comprendidas entre los 16 y los 29 años. Se utilizó un cuestionario unificado que incluía varias escalas estandarizadas para medir la ideación suicida, los trastornos de la conducta alimentaria, el malestar psicológico, la autoestima y la satisfacción familiar. Los resultados revelaron una relación significativa entre los trastornos de la conducta alimentaria, el malestar psicológico y la ideación suicida, mientras que una baja autoestima y una baja satisfacción familiar se asociaron negativamente con la ideación suicida. El análisis de regresión indicó que estos factores explicaban el 32.1% de la variabilidad en la ideación suicida. Los análisis de moderación mostraron que la edad, pero no el sexo, impactaba en la relación entre los trastornos de la conducta alimentaria, la autoestima y la ideación suicida, observándose efectos más fuertes entre los participantes más jóvenes. Estos hallazgos subrayan la importancia de abordar los trastornos de la conducta alimentaria, el malestar psicológico, la autoestima y la satisfacción familiar mediante intervenciones educativas y una investigación continua, ya que son factores clave en la prevención de la ideación suicida entre adolescentes y adultos jóvenes.
