The analysis of the perception of insecurity understood as the result of diffusion of the media regarding public security policies is the aim of the present study. In this regard, a review of studies on the perception of risk, uncertainty, violence and crime was performed to establish indicators of the perception of insecurity and specify their reflective relationships. Then, we conducted a study with a nonrandom sample of 330 community residents. Normal (close to 1.00 kurtosis), reliability (alphas greater than 0.60), validity (factor loadings greater than 0.300), covariance (phi correlations between 0.30 and 0.80), were established structure [?2 = 14.02 (18df), p < 0.001, GFI = 0.995, RMSEA = 0.000]. Finally, in light of the Reliability Theory of Social Theory and Social, representations of the results obtained in reference to the hypothetical relationships established in the model were discussed.Downloads
