The article describes the basic features of the foundation sector, which has increased its relevance in the last economic crisis, after showing a virtuous behavior in employment creation.It presents the sector as part of an advanced institutional environment, which enjoys a high level of trust in Spanish Society and which promotes values related with generosity, solidarity, credibility and trust, which are positive for the functioning of our economy and our democracy.In the future the sector will offer citizens new ways to participate in civil society, and solutions to their new needs if it succeeds in facing its main challenges: transparency, innovation, impact measurement and the strengthening of financing.Downloads
