Curriculum and respect towards diversity: Challenges in the Department of Education of Puerto Rico

The aim of the investigation was to analyze the challenges the Department of Education faces in order to include a curriculum as part of the educational program about promoting respect for diversity for all the students within the public system. As part of the investigative process, we evaluated the meaning each participant inject diversity from the standpoint of human and analyzed the convergence, and also, the discrepancies that emerged from their experiences. The resulting picture of the interviews helped to understand where the challenges of the Department of Education lay and suggest the steps to take incased in a theoretical and conceptual frame.Downloads
