Social Work from legislation, another field of intervention to promote social welfare policies

The times and social contexts change in our society, the profession of Social Work enters and intervenes more and more through the different areas of knowledge and the fields of intervention that arise from social problems. The Ethical-Professional Political Project reveals a new way of thinking and doing social work, this time more attached to the direct ways of meeting the demands that civil society demands, that is, a way to create public policies and concrete them from of the legislative processes, this means that it is time for the contemporary social worker to see this space as a possible field of intervention, the spaces of decision-making and thus directly serve the groups infringed for which social work has its reason for existing. From this premise, it is proposed to talk about why social workers need to be in local and federal legislatures to formulate laws and directly influence the creation of public policies that really favor and promote the development of vulnerable groups and civil society, a raison d'em of the profession.
