The influence of the gender roles in the female crime fromthe perspective of gender

Abstract

In recent years, our current penitentiary system has undergone deep changes, highlighting an increase in the female prison population, turning Spain into the EU country with the largest number of women privates of liberty. Along this research it is proposed to analyze through the perceptions, opinions and experiences of professionals and persons deprived of liberty, how the gender roles are introduced in prisons. In this way, the work is oriented towards understanding and analysis of data collected from applied research or "case study", where through field work and own ethnographic research techniques, an important social phenomenon, as is the phenomenon of crime.
